What are the best colleges for brewing beer?
I am severely interested in brewing beer, and I wanted to know how to go about getting the best college education on doing so. So which colleges are the best to go to in regards to learning how to brew your own brew, and eventually starting your own brewery?
I live in Seattle, Washington right now, and want to know what avenues I would take to brew my own beer and eventually start my own brewery. I know a business degree would be a good idea, but I would also like some sort of degree in brewing, if such a degree exists.

I don’t know of any colleges that have any curriculum regarding brewing beer. If there is one then I wish I had gone to it. You’re more likely to gain experience through workshops and clubs. There are plenty of Do-it-Yourself breweries that allow people to brew their own beer, but the employees do all the real work. A place like that would give you great experience in starting your own brewery. I don’t know if they are showing up everywhere, but I have 3-4 places like that within a one hour drive of where I live (New England).
Your best bet might be finding a local micro-brewery. If you let me know what part of the country you’re in then I can probably make a recommendation of quality craft breweries in the area.
Also, check out BeerAdvocate.com. It is based in Boston MA but is one of the best resources I have found for beers from all over the world.
