I would recommend this book to anyone. Outstanding job by Steve and Tom! I have never had Brooklyn Brewery beer or am I even remotely from Brooklyn; however after reading this book I think I just may move there. I found myself inspired by the way Steve and Tom built and ran their company. This truly an example of how a company can be concerned about employees, community and the environment while still running a profitable business. Great book, well worth your time!

Having been a Wall Street executuve during the crazy dot com days I can relate to what Steve and Tom went through. Lucky for them they started the business before the greed and craziness and were able to weather through decisions they made during that time that turned out badly.

I have helped finance dozens of start-ups and Beer school is an excellent source for those thinking of starting their own business. While non fiction it reads like a suspense novel

Simply Great ! it covers almost everything in the beer business with a realism and a great sense of humour.

I wish we had more books like this for the industry

This is an interesting look at the stories and tribulations of starting a business. Even if you don't care much for the entreprenuerial side of the book, its still about beer, how can it be bad? The writing is clear and personal, what you would expect from an experienced story teller who loves his work. Brooklyn Brewery has a unique corporate culture in which the reader feels he is a part. I already have plans forming in my head to start homebrewing, Steve and Tom's overwhelming success make it sound easy. Definately pick up beer school, its entertaining and you might learn something too.

I bought this book for my husband because he brews his own beer and loves the Brooklyn Brewery. He hasn't read it yet, but it appears to be a "how to start a business" kind of book rather than a book about the history of the Brooklyn Brewery like I expected. Oh well. It could still be very interesting. We'll see.
