I don’t mean to be asking here, should you or can you give thanks TO other humans.

But if you are in the habit of giving thanks to God, as you conceive of God, for the different blessings in your life, do you ever think to thank God for what other humans did to make those blessings possible?

For instance, if you thank God for each meal you eat, do you ever think to thank God for the farmers who grew the grain or grazed the farm animals, and the equipment manufacturers and oil companies who provided those farmers with tractors and/or milking machines, and the feedlot operators and meatpacking plant workers who helped to convert the pigs, chickens, turkeys, cows or sheep to meat, and the railroad employees or teamsters who carried the meat and grain to the big agribusiness company who converted it into food appearing in your local supermarket?

Do you also think sometimes to thank the supermarket manager, the stockboys, and the cashiers who made it possible for you to purchase your meat, milk or bread products? Not to mention the manufacturers of the big refrigerator units at the supermarket that kept the meat & milk cool until you purchased it, and the USDA inspectors and local health department inspectors who worked to make sure that the food for sale in the market was safe to eat?

Or suppose you’re a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Zoroastrian, Hindu or believer in some other theistic religion, and you’re a coffee drinker or a tea drinker.

When you offer a prayer of thanks to God for a cup of your favorite brew in the morning, do you also give thanks to God for the plantation laborers who picked the tea leaves or the coffee beans, the plantation managers who organized their labor, the winnowers and cleaners who separated the tea and the coffee beans from stray bits of dirt & straw & weeds, the laborers who packed the cleaned tea leaves & coffee beans into boxes or bags, the railroad employees or truckers who carried the packed tea & coffee to the local port for loading onto ships, the crews on the ships who carried the stuff to an American port for unloading, the longshoremen and/or crane operators who unloaded the cargo ships, the truckers who carried the coffee & tea to some big corporation for further processing — and so on and on?

Because if you truly believe in God, and if you think that God created the entire world and that in a sense He rules the entire world, all of these different humans employed by the food industry are “doing God’s will” in providing you with your breakfast, aren’t they?

So should you show some gratitude to them, and some concern about their welfare, while you enjoy the products that God has provided to you partly through their labor?

All the time.

God does not force people to be good people or make good choices. I am very grateful for people that choose to be good people and have a positive influence in my life and the peoples lives that I care about.

good points, and I used to pray for many but wore myself out,
I read what Jesus said….
John 17:9
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
I do ask the Lord to bless certain situations that are having trouble. I try to pray for my family each day, and people that
I know are in need. My random prayers go with the ambulances I hear and people on R/S

Every time I pray I thank God for the food on the table and for those that had provided it and prepared it. So yea I do thank all of those mentioned.

no

they provide a product but god allowed them to provide the product
god allowed all the people to be healthy to work
god allowed the business to even be in business to sell what they do

god sent the rain and sun to cause the bean or seed to grow that the product was made up
god allowed the animal to grow properly and be healthy to be used for food

with out god none of the products would grow nor would they be harvested or prepared with out god.

so no god gets all the credit not man
man could do nothing if god did not bless them

God makes all things, including humans so when you thank God you are also thanking him for everything. When I pray I am inclusive, like for the military, instead of all the cooks and corporals. Like for the Religious leaders, not all by name. When I pray for Israel, I mean everyone in it.

Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I haven’t given thanks to God in a very long time. Why? Simply because God isn’t the one who does these things, God might inspire us to do it but we are the achievers.

God helps those who help themselves, or so the saying goes. Those people working on the farms, plantations, factories, etc are helping themselves by doing their duty. The best I can do is thankful for them following their duty, and follow mine to the best of my abilities. That way, someone will have the opportunity to be thankful for my duties and perform theirs for the same reasons.
